Confidentiality. Take the lesson, leave the personal details. You can share the general ideas learned here, but please do not share names or personal stories without permission.
Respect Other People's Identities. Please respect other attendees' identities, including their chosen name, pronouns, and identity labels.
Ask to Ask. Always get permission before asking personal questions or for 101 explanations. If someone says no, please respect that and let the conversation move on. If you are looking for help with 101 questions or explanations, consider also reaching out to an organizer or checking out our resources page.
Accountability and Assuming Positive Intent. Not everyone attending will have the same level of knowledge and experience. When in doubt, assume that intent is generally positive, even when mistakes are made. And in turn, if you use a harmful term or make a harmful statement, take accountability for your actions.
Share the Discussion. If you've been talking a lot, give others a chance to speak; on the other hand, if you have a thought to share that hasn't been said yet, please don't be afraid to speak up!
Use "I" Statements. When discussing your opinions, please avoid generalizing statements like "pineapple on pizza is terrible". Instead, speak from your personal perspective - for example, "I personally think pineapple on pizza tastes terrible; it's just not for me".
It’s important to us that this event be made accessible to all members of the community, including those with health concerns or who need to protect family members with health concerns.
In light of the ongoing pandemic and seasonal surges in COVID-19, flu, and other contagious illnesses, we ask all attendees and volunteers to agree to the following:
I agree to stay home if I am experiencing symptoms or feeling sick.
When requested, I agree to wear an N95, KN95 or equivalent mask (not just a simple cloth or surgical mask) for indoor events. I understand that at events requiring masking, appropriate masks will be made available on-site for free for those who need them.
If I test positive after an event, I agree to notify an organizer so they can notify other attendees (reporter details will be kept anonymous).
When possible, events will be located in outdoor areas with better ventilation. For indoor events, masking requirements will vary depending on the event and the venue; please check each event description for the current masking recommendations.
Low Fragrance Environment: Please reduce or eliminate heavy perfumes/colognes or other scents. Please be mindful of those with sensitivities or allergies!
